NC Sertoma Endowment Fund, Inc. Grants
Grant Applications
Grant applications must be submitted by Sertoma Clubs with the approval of their board of directors on this form and must contain all information to be considered by the Endowment Fund Board. One copy of this form must be sent to the Endowment Fund Treasurer. The Endowment Fund Board will meet to consider applications at each Mid-Winter meeting, and at any called board meetings.
Clubs must submit applications by December 1 to be considered at the Mid-Winter meeting.
The board may take any of the following actions on an application:
- approve for the requested amount,
- approve for a lesser amount,
- defer for additional information or study,
- defer for any other reason, or
- reject.
Approval may be upon conditions fixed by the board, and if so, the club shall be responsible for demonstrating to the board that the conditions have been met before the board will authorize payment of the grant.
Grants may be approved for hearing and speech projects, Camp Sertoma, or any other worthy projects.
Grants are not necessarily made as matching funds, but the board will consider a club's fundraising for the proposed project and the extent to which the project might succeed with and without the grant. The maximum amount of any one grant will be fixed by the board from time to time based on the total amount of funds available for all grants.
Grants will be considered on their merit from any North Carolina Sertoma Club without regard to the extent of contributions by the club to the Endowment Fund. Effective July 1, 2014, and approved at the Feb 1, 2014, board meeting, to receive a grant, clubs will be required to support their Endowment Fund with a minimum donation of at least $100 in the year the grant is requested. Checks should be made payable to “Edward Jones.”
